The Italian Lounge’s Ongoing Evolution in Connecting Design, Business and Global Markets

The Italian Lounge, an experiential and business platform dedicated to Italian design and lifestyle, made its debut at China International Furniture Fair (CIFF) Guangzhou from 18 to 21 March 2026.

Conceived and organised by Edimotion, the project forms part of the IBC (Inter Business Club) Gathering, CIFF’s international networking platform. Having previously appeared at CIFF Shanghai twice, this first outing at CIFF Guangzhou 2026 marked its third edition, a milestone reflecting its evolution as a meeting point for companies, institutions and professionals across China and the broader global design community.

The space, designed by Davide Pavanello Lab, offered an immersive, multisensory environment where design and nature converge, showcasing products embodying the identity and excellence of “Made in Italy”.

These pieces from leading Italian brands Laminam, Natuzzi Italia, Arflex, Linea Light and Oikos were carefully selected and incorporated to create a welcoming setting, where visitors could build relationships, exchange ideas and explore new opportunities for international collaboration.

The project also featured a series of discussions on key design and market topics, held under the patronage of the Politecnico di Milano – School of Design and curated by Prof. Francesco Scullica.

These included “Design & Business Outlook — International Perspectives”, organised by CIFF and Edimotion with contributions from CSIL, as well as “Why the Middle East Matters: Real Opportunities for Furniture and Design Suppliers”, developed in partnership with Construction Week Middle East (ITP Media Group, Dubai).

With art direction by Vudafieri Saverino Partners and the support of knowledge partners CSIL, GWA and Itonica, The Italian Lounge continues to strengthen its role as a bridge between Italy, China and the global design system.

An expanded and enhanced fourth edition will return to the 58^th CIFF Shanghai from 5 to 8 September 2026.
