In the bustling heart of Johor Bahru, a hidden gem awaits those who seek solace from the city’s hustle and bustle. Manzanita Patisserie & Boulangerie, located within AEON Mall Bukit Indah, is more than just a café; it’s an indoor botanical garden oasis that transforms the café experience into a serene nature retreat, inviting patrons to unwind amidst an abundance of plants and natural elements.

Designed by the talented team at Rice Design, the inspiration for this space came from the beauty of botanical gardens, with the design team crafting a layout that emphasises plant diversity and inviting pathways. This created a verdant haven that feels both intimate and expansive, giving the café a vibe that harmoniously blends nature and comfort.

Wood, a staple material in the design, adds warmth and a rustic charm to the interior, with the use of wooden tables, chairs, countertops and flooring creating a cosy and inviting atmosphere that beckons patrons to sit and enjoy their pastries. The incorporation of reclaimed wood by the team not only exudes authenticity but also aligns with sustainable practices, reflecting a commitment to eco-friendly choices.

The main element used in Manzanita Patisserie & Boulangerie are the plants and greenery that adorn every corner. From potted herbs neatly arranged on shelves to larger leafy plants like ferns and palms, the café is a lush tapestry of green. Living walls and green partitions are strategically placed to create a sense of seclusion and intimacy, allowing patrons to feel enveloped by nature as they enjoy their pastries and coffee.
