This entertainment showroom in Mutiara Damansara, Petaling Jaya designed by Dot Works Sdn Bhd for Goldenduck International – DOTY 2026’s Platinum Partner – was first featured in Commercial Concept Volume 13.

EXPERIMENTAL CHRONONAUT

A multitude of harmonising contrasts—analogue and digital, past and future, soulful and industrial—unite at this transportive entertainment showroom, offering an immersive, personalised and cinematic journey in spatial storytelling.

Step into the Cinemagica Showroom, and you’re instantly transported not just to another place, but to another time. Or rather, multiple timelines. Following a design theme where retro soul meets modern edge, this entertainment space is an absolute masterclass in seamlessly fused duality: nostalgic yet progressive, warm yet sleek and soulful yet futuristic.

A significant part of the showroom pays tribute to the bygone golden musical era. Framed vinyls and musical instruments line the walls like sacred artefacts, conjuring memories of analogue crackles and timeless grooves. Rich textures paired with deep, earthy hues as well as vintage-inspired furniture and curated lighting lend the space a deep sense of warmth and personality—almost like stepping into the personal studio of a musician from the ‘70s.

Yet just as quickly as the space lures you into the past, it propels you forward. Clean architectural lines, hidden lighting and integral industrial materials—steel, glass and concrete—turn it into a futuristic, gallery-like atmosphere that’s been injected with a dose of contemporary cool. In more poetic terms, it’s a time capsule with a split compass, where every detail seems to oscillate between the wholesome charm of yesterday and the cutting-edge precision of tomorrow.

At the touch of a button, a projector screen descends, and the cinematic lounge morphs into a luxury boutique-style theatre. The dark walls have been acoustically treated to ensure crisp sounds while arched display shelves come alive with quirky figurines and plush recliners glow subtly with ambient LED lights, setting the scene for pure escapism from a sensorial standpoint. Whether you’re watching a blockbuster film or a concert replay, the space offers an exclusive, immersive and tailored viewing experience like no other.

Adjoining this soulful sanctuary is a sharply contrasting zone—cooler, sharper and more experimental. The metal spiral staircase acts as a sculptural centrepiece, leading to a stainless steel seating area with reflective tables positioned next to a high-tech sound system set-up; it all comes together to exude a raw industrial and futuristic cool vibe. This zone feels like an underground art lab intertwined with the next trendy café, counterbalancing the lounge’s warm emotional resonance with a hit of chrome-based contemporary drama.

What makes the Cinemagica Showroom particularly exceptional is its refreshingly radical yet intentionally curated approach. The completely immersive space, whereby a diverse range of audio, visual and tactile cues intuitively guide the visitors, surpasses its obligations as an entertainment showroom. It has been transformed into a private retreat for true music and film enthusiasts, offering a powerful cinematic journey in spatial storytelling that’s equal parts soulful and progressive.
