Asia-Pacific Space Designers Association to launch 2025 APSDA Awards and new accreditation framework

Asia-Pacific Space Designers Association (APSDA) to reveal the APSDA Awards 2025 alongside a brand new accreditation system called AP-ID-AP on July 20, 2024

APSDA will be unveiling the much-anticipated APSDA Awards 2025, right along the official launch of the Asia Pacific Interior Designers’ Accreditation Program (AP-ID-AP). To take place at the Manila Interior Design Summit (MIDS) 2024, this significant event is organized by the Philippines Institute of Interior Designers (PIID) and is set to happen at The Playground Bench Tower in Manila this July 20.

The brand new AP-ID-AP framework initiative

The Asia Pacific Interior Designers’ Accreditation Program (AP-ID-AP) represents a pivotal initiative for the interior design community across the Asia-Pacific region. Developed through the collaborative efforts of 14 national-level interior design associations, the program aims to enhance the caliber of interior design professionals by establishing a comprehensive and standardized framework for accreditation, evaluation, and ongoing improvement.

The AP-ID-AP offers two classes of accreditation: Group A and Group B.

Welcoming the APSDA Awards 2025

Happening January 2025, the APSDA Awards is a biennial event dedicated to honoring distinguished figures and celebrating exemplary projects across the Asia-Pacific region. Regarded with high professional standard within the industry, this prestigious program marks a significant milestone for designers due to its international recognition and acclaim.

In the upcoming installation, new categories and judging criteria will be introduced alongside existing ones, such as ‘Project of the Year’ and ‘Personality of the Year’. The ‘Project of the Year’ category will now feature a sub-category for Residential projects to further divide designs by scale and better recognize different project sizes. These updates are designed to broaden the scope of recognition within the interior design world in the region.

Among the new judging criterion is sustainability. How a project or designer implements sustainability, and what environmental decisions were made will be the focus of this judging point. The criterion aims to honor projects that demonstrate a commitment to sustainability by promoting responsible resource use and the minimisation of environmental footprint.
