Ambiente, Christmasworld and Creativeworld Reaffirm Frankfurt as a Global Consumer Goods Industry Hub

From 6 to 10 February 2026, Messe Frankfurt played host to three annual consumer goods trade fairs, once again becoming an international marketplace for those in search of new products, ideas and connections.

Ambiente, Christmasworld and Creativeworld saw the attendance of 4,636 exhibitors from 170 countries, reflecting the growing international presence in consumer goods fairs.

It also demonstrated the dynamic nature of the global consumer goods industry, in a trading environment where personal encounters, market transparency, and resilient networks are gaining more significance.

This was discussed the day before at Compass Talks, in which a key takeaway was the need to be more proactive to thrive in the industry, especially in driving the development of business models, building more robust value chains, and preparing for uncertainties such as customs duties and import regulations.

“Geopolitics, cost pressures and the need for transformation are no longer exceptional circumstances, but rather a new reality.

“This is precisely why it is important to seize the right moment in the market with confidence and drive. And that moment is here and now in Frankfurt,” said Detlef Braun, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt.

Achieving Global Reach

About 140,000 trade visitors flocked to Ambiente, Christmasworld and Creativeworld. Visitors to one fair also attended the other two at rates ranging from below 60 per cent to above 80 per cent, according to Messe Frankfurt, underscoring the events’ added value as a one-stop shop for consumer goods.

Combined, the trade fair trio achieved very high visitor satisfaction ratings of 96 per cent, as well as a level of internationality of 71 per cent. Most international visitors came from Italy, China, the Netherlands, the United States, and France.

The events had successfully attracted various global retailers such as ALDI, Carrefour International, Coop, Crate & Barrel, dm Drogeriemarkt, Dirk Rossmann, EDEKA, El Corte Inglès, Fenwick, Fleurop, Globus, IKEA, Jaeyoung Trading, Lidl, OBI, OTTO, REWE, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Zalando, and Zara.

Buyers from the hotel, catering, real estate and project development sectors were also present, including Marriot Hotel Holding, Minor Hotels Europe & Americas, and hotel-specific providers like Caddie Hotel.

Ambiente Remains a Platform for Industry Cooperation

Ambiente continued to showcase a diverse range of products for various living spaces and lifestyles through its Dining, Living and Giving areas.

Of note for this year were offerings in relation to Ambiente Projects. International buyers and professionals from the retail, hospitality and contract furnishing sectors, for example, frequented the HoReCa, Hospitality Interiors and Contract Business areas.

Other features such as the Interior Design & Architecture Hub, Interior Looks, and special themed formats like Spot on Back of House and the Hospitality Academy strengthened the fair’s role as a catalyst for global business engagement and collaboration, particularly in interior design, hospitality and international projects.

Christmasworld and Creativeworld as Sources of Guidance and Inspiration

At Christmasworld, trade visitors were captivated by the wealth of design ideas in seasonal and festive decorations. As the leading international trade fair in this category of consumer goods, it provided guidance and inspiration across the entire value chain, from product development and staging to the point of sale.

Meanwhile, trends highlighted at Creativeworld focused on the convergence of materials and products, giving rise to new art forms and modes of expression, especially in textile design and ceramics.

The trade fair also introduced Creative Academy, a certified training platform for trade visitors from the creative and hobby sectors. With this initiative, the fair established itself as a key hub for knowledge and professional development in the retail sector.
