CBD Guangzhou 2026 marked another step in the event’s evolution from a traditional trade fair into a wider platform for knowledge sharing, innovation, international dialogue and business development.
The shift was reflected not only in the scale of the exhibition, but also in the growing range of programmes and initiatives surrounding it.
The latest edition recorded a 33.4% increase in overseas visitors, highlighting its growing international reach. Beyond sourcing products, the event brought together manufacturers, architects, designers, buyers, institutions and industry experts to exchange ideas, explore emerging trends and develop new business connections.
Among more than 70 conferences, forums, exhibitions and curated initiatives, several projects stood out for the different ways they addressed the future of design, materials, business and living.
A new addition to the 2026 programme, The World Connect Lounge and World Connect Forum were hosted and organised by CBD Guangzhou and conceived and developed by Edimotion.
Designed as a hub for knowledge sharing, networking and business exchange, the initiative brought together architects, designers, buyers, media representatives, exhibitors and market experts from around the world.
Discussions explored global design trends, international market developments and export opportunities, reinforcing the event’s focus on international dialogue and longer-term business relationships.
Now in its third edition, Archi Box continues to develop its role as a design-focused initiative within CBD Guangzhou.
Combining a curated exhibition, material library and dedicated forums, the project connected designers with manufacturers and suppliers while presenting innovative materials and approaches to sourcing. Its modular and sustainable exhibition concept also highlighted the continuing influence of material innovation on architecture and interior design.

The “All In IP” exhibition looked at how design brands can create value that extends beyond the duration of a trade fair.
Through immersive installations, branded experiences and reusable intellectual-property content, the initiative explored how exhibitions can become ongoing platforms for communication, brand building and community engagement rather than one-off showcases.
Another forward-looking project was “Nuan Lili · Smart Age-Friendly Living Space”, described as China’s first immersive exhibition dedicated to age-friendly living.
Moving beyond a traditional medical approach, the project explored how architecture, interior design and smart technologies can respond to the everyday needs of an ageing population. Its focus was on discreet, human-centred solutions that support independence, comfort and wellbeing.

The second edition of THE PLACE turned its attention to the wider environments in which people live.
Bringing together designers, brands, urban planners and community organisations, the initiative examined how residential spaces, commercial environments and neighbourhoods are evolving. Exhibitions and forums considered the role of design in creating more sustainable, inclusive and meaningful lifestyles, while highlighting its ability to shape communities beyond individual buildings.
Taken together, these initiatives reflect the changing scope of CBD Guangzhou. The event is increasingly positioned as a meeting point for ideas, collaboration and market development, alongside its role as a place to discover products and manufacturers.
The journey continues with the 29th CBD Guangzhou, taking place from 8–11 July 2027 at the Canton Fair Complex in Guangzhou. Industry professionals from around the world are invited to discover new innovations, connect with manufacturers and contribute to the future of the global building decoration industry.
