Born in 1962, Andra Matin who is the eldest of
three siblings, found a calling for architecture
when he was in high school where he was drawn
to the art of technical drawing and that passion
was further fueled when he took up photography
as an extracurricular activity. Over the course of
the conversation, we find out that his interest for
photography, composition and lighting likely would
have stemmed from watching his father draw
everyday. Working in the design department of the
Ministry of Education & Culture, Andra explained
that his dad used to draw and watching him draw,
made him realise that there is always composition
in drawings. This encouraged him to go down a
creative path.
