Andrew who hails from Johor Bahru decided to go down the architecture and interior designing route as he felt design and architecture are industries that would never fade but instead would take him on that evolving journey while challenging him to grow with it and mold him to become better within the industry. Completing a Double Degree in Architecture and Planning and Design, at the University of Melbourne, Andrew who used to be based in Melbourne, Australia, returned home and incepted SQR Interior Architecture in 2017 where the firm is focused on design and build. With close to 10 personnel in his firm, he doesn’t encourage the firm to adopt a signature style or design because the central figure that brings the interior and design together is the client. In his opinion, truly successful, enjoyable, and meaningful design is the synthesis of context, creativity, and how well it serves its occupants. As the founder of SQR, Andrew believes winning awards is important to help build the brand and instill trust among its clientele while recognizing the effort and skills of the team.
